The Internet connects teachers with their colleagues.
Working with teachers in Dominica was such a fantastic opportunity. The geography of the island (mountainous interior separating towns and schools) is similar to my large northern Alberta district. The environment and weather, though, are anything but similar.
Connecting with Dominican teachers and introducing them to technology that can overcome the physical isolation that hinders collaboration revitalized my beliefs about the power of collaboration. We all worked together for two weeks building units that utilize technology, Web 2.0 tools and our shared knowledge and experience. What a fantastic opportunity for me to grow professionally!
